What is RegenPRP™?
Regen PRP uses a platelet concentrate made with RegenKit® products to aid tissue repair and regeneration. Platelets are important not only for clotting but also for healing, supplying growth factors that control cell activities like migration and growth. Key growth factors from platelets include FGF, PDGF, TGF-β, EGF, VEGF, and IGF. These factors help direct stem cells, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells for tissue repair, new extracellular matrix, and new blood vessel growth. Plasma contains other essentials: nutrients, vitamins, hormones, electrolytes, and more growth factors (like IGF, HGF). Plasma proteins, including coagulation proteins, form a fibrin scaffold to support new tissue growth.

Device Technology
All Regen™ tubes consist of pharmaceutical-grade class I borosilicate and use vacuum for automated blood collection. The hallmark of the Regen™ technology is a thixotropic separating gel composed of a mixture of polymers for gravimetric plasma separation (elimination of RBC and WBC). RegenTHT, Regen BCT and A-CP are devices designed for the preparation of PRP and contain a sodium citrate anticoagulant solution above the separating gel. The RegenATS device does not contain anticoagulant. In this device, the plasma coagulates and a serum rich in activated thrombin is extracted from the plasma clot.

Regen Lab devices intended for PRP preparation consist of evacuated glass tubes containing a thixotropic gel with a specific density designed for platelet or platelet and MNC isolation, and anticoagulant solution. The gel acts as a mechanical separator of blood components, and sodium citrate solution as blood anticoagulant. Thixotropy is a physical property of some gels which are thick under static condition, become more fluid when submitted to physical stress (in this case, the centrifugal force) and regain their original consistency when the physical stress stops.

This serum contains the enzymes of the coagulation cascade in their active form, among them thrombin. Thrombin is the enzyme that converts soluble plasma fibrinogen to fibrin monomers which polymerise to form the clot. Addition of ATS, either alone or with a calcium solution, to RegenPRP™ triggers the coagulation process in a physiological manner. This natural process induces the formation of a three-dimensional fibrin matrix in which the platelets are entrapped. This allows a long-lasting growth factor delivery at the treatment site and the fibrin matrix serves as a scaffold for new tissue reconstruction.

BCT is designed to be used for the safe and rapid preparation of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a small sample of blood.
RegenKit®-BCT allows for quick and efficient preparation of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a small sample of a patient’s blood using specialized vacuum tubes and a centrifuge. This system ensures high platelet recovery, with over 80% of platelets retained, while effectively removing more than 99.7% of red blood cells, most granulocytes, and a significant portion of mononuclear cells. The resulting PRP is pure and consistent, making it suitable for mixing with bone graft material during clinical procedures to improve handling and application.

RegenLab® Blood Draw Accessories are designed to improve the efficiency and reliability of blood collection with RegenKit® medical devices. Available in 10 mL (Ref: BCA-SET3-U) and 20 mL (Ref: BCA-SET3-20) versions, they are compatible with RegenKit® products, including RegenWound® Gel and RegenPlasma®. Each set includes Safety-Lok™ Butterfly needles, collection holders, transfer devices, and syringes for safe, sterile blood collection.
